Constitution 101 provides a comprehensive look at both the history behind the Constitutional Convention and the contents of America’s governing document. The presentation begins with an account of the events that led James Madison and others to see the need to replace the Articles of Confederation with a more federally oriented constitution. The remainder of the presentation explains the various provisions and clauses found in the seven articles. Special attention is given to America’s bicameral legislature, the election and responsibilities of the president, and (though not actually found in the Constitution) the concept of judicial review. Sponsored by friends of June Fischer, in loving memory of June.
